MONTGOMERY, AL - The Biloxi Shuckes (4-3) were held to three hits for a second consecutive night by the Montgomery Biscuits (3-3) in a 6-0 defeat on Thursday night at Riverwalk Stadium. Biscuits RHP Arturo Reyes (W, 2-0) pitched six perfect innings before being removed from the game.
Reyes utilized his defense throughout the night, inducing ten groundball outs, four flyouts and four strikeouts. He didn't come out for the seventh inning after 62 pitches, 42 of them for strikes. Biloxi broke up the perfect game with two outs in the seventh on a single by C.J. Hinojosa. Dillon Thomas followed with an infield single, but the Shuckers left both men stranded on a fly out by Patrick Leonard. Hinojosa and Thomas both stretched their on-base streaks to six games with the single.
Montgomery tagged RHP Trey Supak (L, 1-1) for a run in the fourth inning on a solo homer by Dalton Kelly, his first of the season. Supak allowed two more runs in the fifth, departing after 4.2 innings of work. LHP Daniel Brown entered the game and had an inherited runner score on a double steal that included a steal of home by Josh Lowe. RHP Nattino Diplan allowed two runs on a homer to Lowe in the seventh, and RHP Aaron Kurcz tossed a scoreless inning in the eighth.
Biloxi continues their five-game set with the Biscuits on Friday night at 6:35 pm. RHP Braden Webb (0-1, 4.50) is scheduled to start against Montgomery LHP Josh Fleming (0-0, 1.50) The game can be heard locally on Cruisin' WGCM AM 1240/100.9 FM, TuneIn Radio or the MiLB First Pitch App.
