TRENTON, N.J. - Bill Underwood, who has been a scout for the NHL, CHL and minor pro teams since 1982, will assume similar duties for the Trenton Titans as the ECHL club's scout.
Underwood graduated from Union College in Schenectady, N.Y., and played senior hockey in the New York State area. He coached junior hockey in the Albany area and was Director of Player Personnel with Plattsburgh in the QJMHL.
He was a scout for the Quebec Nordiques, and for both Victoria and New Westminster in the WHL. He was chief scout of Johnstown (ECHL) and Detroit (CoHL). He has worked in the AHL and the WPHL, the Central Hockey League and has spent eight years with OHL Central Scouting.
"Whatever I can do as observing our players and whatever help I can offer in the talent area is why I'm here,'' said Underwood.
Titans President/CEO Rich Lisk, who has known Underwood for many years, is glad to have him on board.
"Bill is another set of eyes for us at games, and certainly had an eye for talent,'' said Lisk.
Following Saturday's game with the Florida Everblades, Opening Weekend continues with a visit by the Cincinnati Cyclones at 4:05 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 23, to the Sun National Bank Center. The Titans then welcome the Gwinnett Gladiators (Oct. 26) and Reading Royals (Oct. 28).
The Titans are offering a 4-for-$48 package, consisting of four lower-level seats, four hot dogs and four sodas, for all 36 home games. The package is available by calling the Titans offices at 609-341-1100.
