
Bighorns Fall to D-Fenders

EL SEGUNDO, CA - The Bighorns (13-9) fell 131-116 to the Los Angeles D-Fenders (10-12) Thursday night at the Toyota Sports Center.
Vince Hunter paced the Bighorns with 26 points eight rebounds and three steals. Reggie Hearn followed Hunter closely, netting 21 points and adding eight rebounds. Hearn went 8-13 from the field and 5-9 from behind the arc during the Thursday night contest. Erick Green, totaled 16 points, three rebounds, five assists and four steals.
In the first quarter, Green notched seven points and two assists. Chad Toppert notched four points as Hunter tallied four points and two rebounds. Hearn, David Stockton and Mark Tyndale had three points each in the quarter.
Hearn led the Bighorns in the second quarter with eight points and three rebounds. Green had four points while Cliff Hammonds counted three points and two assists.
The Bighorns went into the locker room at the half trailing the D-Fenders 76-52.
During the third quarter, Toppert paced the Bighorns with nine points. Hearn counted seven points in the quarter as Hunter notched five points. Green scored five points and added two rebounds and two steals in the third quarter.
Hunter caught fire in the fourth quarter, netting 15 points and grabbing four rebounds. Tyndale had four points, two rebounds and two assists in the fourth quarter.
In the second half, the Bighorns shot 50 percent from the field compared to the D-Fenders shooting 41 percent from the field and outscored the D-Fenders 64-55 in the second half.
