Salt Lake Bees News Release

SACRAMENTO - The Salt Lake Bees scored six runs in the ninth inning to snap a 1-1 tie and go on to defeat the Sacramento River Cats 7-1 on Friday night. The Bees loaded the bases on singles by Alfredo Marte and Roger Kieschnick and a walk to Jett Bandy. One out later, Gary Brown lined a single to left to bring home Marte for a 2-1 lead. Kaleb Cowart followed with a three run double to right center and Grant Green closed out the scoring with a two run homer to left, his second of the season. Cowart has now driven 17 runs in the 22 games he's played since being promoted from class A Inland Empire.

Jeremy McBryde (3-4) tossed one and one-third scoreless innings to pick up the win, which allowed the Bees to avoid being swept in the series. Salt Lake starter Tyler DeLoach went six innings and allowed only one run on four hits with five strikeouts and five walks. Marte, Kieschnick and Brown each had two hits to lead the Bees.
