Big Innings Hurt Braves in 15-5 Loss

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves dropped the final game of their four game set against the Hickory Crawdads Monday night at State Mutual Stadium 15-5. Hickory earns a split in the series.

Hickory scored two runs in the first inning thanks to a fielding error by Jarred Frierson and an RBI single by Andrew Clark. Rome tied the game in the bottom half of the inning on RBI singles by Christian Bethancourt and Jakob Dalfonso. The Crawdads pushed five runs across the plate in the fifth highlighted by a three RBI double by Alejandro Selen making the score 7-2.

The Braves cut into the lead in the bottom of the inning with two runs on RBI hits by Dalfonso and David Rohm to close the gap to 7-4. Hickory had a four run seventh and Rome added a single run in the bottom of the inning on a Dalfonso solo home run but that is as close as the Braves would get. Hickory four insurance runs in the eighth to win by the 15-5 score. The Crawdads had 16 hits in the game.Colby Killian (3-2) gets the win for Hickory, while Ronan Pacheco (2-4) is tagged with the loss for Rome.
