Bierk up, DesRochers down

Springfield Falcons News Release


Springfield, MA – The Springfield Falcons announced today that the Phoenix Coyotes have recalled goaltender Zac Bierk and reassigned goaltender Patrick DesRochers to the Springfield Falcons.

Bierk has played in 12 games for the Falcons this season posting a record of 6-4-0 with a 2.90 goals against average and .914 save percentage. He made his 2002-03 season debut on Saturday, October 26th and made 48 saves in a Falcons 3-1 win at Manitoba. Bierk collected the win in the Falcons 4-3 victory over Saint John on Sunday, December 15th making 25 saves after missing the previous six games due to injury.

DesRochers has played in four games with the Phoenix Coyotes this season going 0-3-0 with a 3.77 goals against average. He has also played in four games with the Falcons this season collecting a record of 1-2-0 with a 2.32 goals against average. DesRochers posted a 1.62 goals against average and .945 save percentage with Springfield in his three games prior to his recall to Phoenix on October 23rd.

The Springfield Falcons also announced today that goaltender Colin Zulianello has been reassigned to Augusta of the ECHL. Zulianello was recalled by the Falcons on November 30th and didn't play any minutes while with Springfield.
