Bianca St-Georges Named to Canada Soccer's Women's National Team

Chicago Stars FC News Release
CHICAGO, Ill. - Canada Soccer's Women's National team today announced their roster ahead of the October international window. Chicago Red Stars defender Bianca St-Georges was named to be part of the 25-person roster. Canada's final roster of 23 players will be decided prior to their match against Argentina.
St-Georges represented Canada on the international level in July, being part of the squad that led Canada to the CONCACAF W Championship final, where they took second place. The Canadian Women's National Team most recently played two friendlies against Australia in Brisbane and Sydney earlier this month, with St-Georges in the starting lineup for both, helping Canada prevail 1-0 and 2-1, respectively.
St-Georges also previously helped Canada win the silver medal in the 2013 CONCACAF U-17 Champions. She started eight games on the U-17 squad, including in the 2014 U-17 World Cup. She also was a part of the U-20 team that won silver at the CONCACAF Championships in 2015 and was a member of the 2016 U-20 Women's World Cup.
St-Georges was a force on the pitch with the Red Stars during the 2022 regular season, playing in 15 of 22 matches, 13 of which she started on. St-Georges accumulated 2 goals and 2 assists this season, frequently filling holes in the Red Stars lineup by taking on a midfield and attacking role as well as her usual defensive position. She made her presence felt during the Red Stars' home opener against Racing Louisville FC April 30, where she scored her first National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) regular-season goal. St-Georges scored her first NWSL goal in 2020 during the inaugural Challenge Cup. For her performance that year, St-Georges was named the Red Stars' 2020 Rookie of the Year.
St-Georges will join a skilled and well-known Canadian team, playing with teammates she's gone toe-to-toe with in the NWSL this season, including goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan (San Diego Wave FC), midfielder Quinn (OL Reign), and forwards Janine Beckie (Portland Thorns), Jordyn Huitema (OL Reign), Nichelle Prince (Houston Dash), and Christine Sinclair (Portland Thorns).
