Berube Signs PTO with San Antonio
January 24, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Allen Americans News Release
The Allen Americans have announced that Defenseman Mike Berube signed a professional try-out (PTO) with the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League.
The 6' 1" 215-pound Edmonton, Alberta native is in his first season with the Americans, after skating with the Charlotte Checkers (ECHL) and Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL) in 2009-10.
Playing in 35 games this season, Berube has accumulated 13 assists and a plus-10 rating, alongside 26 penalty minutes.
"It's a great opportunity for Mike, and very well deserved," Americans Head Coach/GM Dwight Mullins said. "He has been a good player for us all year, and I'm excited to see how he does."
Berube, 22, is expected to be in the lineup for San Antonio tonight, as the club travels to Cedar Park to take on the Texas Stars at 7:30 PM.
