CHL Oakley CHL Player of the Week Announced

January 24, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release


TEMPE, AZ (January 24, 2011) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Wichita forward Jesse Bennefield has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Player of the Week for the period ending January 23, 2011.

The Calgary, Alberta native recorded seven points (4-3=7) in four games, while helping the Thunder move into a four-way tie for second place in the Turner Conference after posting an undefeated 4-0-0 week. He started the week off right, with one goal, complemented by two assists in a 3-2 win against Quad City and followed it up nicely with another goal in Wichita ‚¬â„¢s 4-3 win in Missouri. Bennefield kept his momentum rolling as his team returned home, tallying one goal in a shutout win over Missouri and then finsihed the week with one last goal alongside an assist to finish out the week with a big 6-3 victory against Laredo. He ended the week with a +6 plus/minus rating and is currently carrying the league ‚¬â„¢s longest active goal streak finding the back of the net in six straight games (league-long is seven games set by Dayton ‚¬â„¢s Brandon Naurato and Texas ‚¬â„¢ Chad Woollard).

CHL Scoring Leaders

This season, the 6-0, 195 pound forward is ranked 6th in the league in scoring with 51 points (22-29=51), while carrying a 1.34 points per game ratio. In three CHL seasons, he has recorded a total of 81 goals and 100 assists; 181 points, in 152 games played.
