Beloit Sky Carp News Release

The Snappers had another late inning surge on Friday night, scoring three runs in the last two innings to defeat the Burlington Bees 3-0. Daniel Berlind and Spencer Steedly combined on a two-hitter, striking out nine Bees, en route to Beloit's fourth straight victory.

The game stayed scoreless until the top of the eighth inning when the Snappers would finally break through. Garrett Olson delivered a two-out, RBI-single to left to put the Snaps ahead of the Kansas City Royals class A affiliate. Olson's single drove home Chris Cates, and gave Beloit a 1-0 lead after seven and a half.

The Snaps would score again in the top of the ninth inning on RBI-singles from Greg Yersich and Ben Petsch. The two runs put Beloit ahead 3-0 heading into the bottom of the ninth inning.

Reliever Spencer Steedley held the Bees in check, striking out the side and giving the Snappers their fourth straight win.

Starter Daniel Berlind claimed his third win of the season, going seven strong innings while only allowing two hits. Berlind also struck out five Bees on the night.

Every Beloit batter got at least one hit except right fielder Joe Benson. Benson did, however, draw a walk and steal two bases.

The win pushed Beloit's overall record to 16-18, while the loss dropped Burlington to 14-19.
