LANSING - Lansing used two walks, a hit batsman, and three hits to score five runs in the bottom of the eighth inning in a 7-3 win over the Whitecaps.

Figaro's ERA went from a Minor League-best 0.46 to 0.80.
West Michigan scored in the top of the first inning when Roger Tomas was hit by a pitch to start the game and eventually crossed home thanks to a throwing error by shortstop Justin Jackson.

He issued a walk, then a hit by pitch and allowed a single to load the bases before he walked John Tolisano to force in a run and make the score, 3-1. At that point, West Michigan manager Joe DePastino was ejected for the first time in his professional managerial career.
Rudy Darrow then came in to pitch and allowed a threerun triple into the right field corner off the bat of Manny Rodriguez, which broke the game open and made the score, 6-1.
In the top of the ninth, Chris Carlson and Casper Wells became the first Whitecaps players to hit back-to-back home runs since Gorkys Hernandez and James Skelton on July 31, 2007 against Peoria. Wells leads the Whitecaps with four home runs.
