
Benoit enters the record book in loss

Kitchener, ON: Andre Benoit collected an assist tonight to become the Rangers all-time leading scorer amongst defenseman. On the scoreboard the Greyhounds scored two third period goals to win the game 5-4 before a crowd of 5,788 at The Aud.
Jason Pitton put the Rangers on top in the first period with his first goal of the season at 8:36. The Rangers would draw even at 1-1 on a goal by Mike Duco, his third.
In the second period the teams traded goals and headed into the second intermission tied at three apiece. Craig Voakes (5) and Evan McGrath (7) scored for the Rangers. Andrew Desjardins and Jeff Carter replied for the Greyhounds.
The Greyhounds scored two goals in the opening 4:49 of the period to take the lead 5-3. Patrick Davis notched his third of the season at 6:08 to pull to within a goal. On the goal Benoit entered the Rangers' record books as the franchise's all time leading scorer amongst defensemen with his 232nd career point passing Paul Reinhart.
Eric Pfligler took the loss allowing five goals on 31 shots.
The Rangers next home game is Friday, October 22nd vs the Peterborough Petes. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at The Aud.
