Toronto - The Ontario Hockey League today announced the results of its review of an incident which occurred at a game played in Plymouth, Michigan on Saturday, October 9, 2004 between the Plymouth Whalers and the visiting Kitchener Rangers Hockey Club.
The incident under review involved player John Armstrong of the Plymouth Whalers Hockey Club who slashed and injured the wrist of player David Clarkson of the Kitchener Rangers Hockey Club.
In making his announcement as a result of the review, OHL Commissioner David Branch stated, "the League is of the opinion that player John Armstrong of the Plymouth Whalers Hockey Club did not deliberately attempt to injure the Kitchener player, however, he did use his stick in a most unacceptable fashion and as a result is suspended for eight games."
