
Ben Rodriguez activated from 7-day DL

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that INF Ben Rodriguez has been activated from the 7-day disabled list and OF Alex Kirilloff has been promoted to Fort Myers. Brian Maloney, Twins Senior Manager of Minor League Operations, announced the move.
Rodriguez went on the DL back on June 6th. In 35 games for the Kernels, he was batting .237 (27-114) with 3 HR and 12 RBI. He was selected by the Twins in the 38th round of the 2017 First Year Player Draft out of Pepperdine University.
Kirilloff leads the Midwest League with 13 HR and 56 RBI and is third in the league with a .333 batting average. He also leads the league with 84 hits and 38 extra base hits, and is second in the league with 20 doubles and a .607 slugging percentage. He was selected by the Twins in the first round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of Plum (PA) High School.
With today's transactions, the Kernels roster is at the MWL maximum of 25 active players, with two players currently on the DL.
The Kernels begin the second half of the MWL season by hosting the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Thursday, June 21st at 6:35 PM, which kicks off a seven-game home stand that continues until Wednesday, June 27th.
