Normal CornBelters News Release
NORMAL, IL - The Normal CornBelters, presented by the Illinois Corn Farmers, are glad they have centerfielder Ross McCoy on their roster. Ross McCoy double dipped on home runs, including a bottom of the 10th inning walk-off grand slam after the CornBelters had fallen behind by two runs in the top of the 10th inning. Normal won, courtesy of Ross McCoy, 6-3 in 10 innings.
McCoy was 3-for-3 in the game with five RBIs, nearly accounting for all of the CornBelters runs. However, it was third baseman Daniel Cox who started the rally with an RBI single in the bottom of the 10th to drive in Kellen Kmiecik, who pinch ran for Eric Brown, who got on base thanks to a Traverse City error to start the inning. Cox was 1-for-5 in the game, but made his lone hit count with the RBI that started the rally.
The CornBelters will play the next game of the series against Traverse City Saturday at 7 PM at the Corn Crib. Kevin Kreier will be on the mound.
