The Somerset Patriots shut out the Hartford Yard Goats by a final score of 4-0 on Tuesday night at Dunkin' Park in Hartford, Connecticut.
The win marked Somerset's fifth shutout of the season and its third started by Clayton Beeter.
It was also Somerset's eighth series-opening win of the season, improving them to 8-2 in series-opening games.
RHP Clayton Beeter (6.0 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 3 BB, 11 K) earned his fourth win of the season, starting his third shutout.
Beeter's 11 strikeouts matched the career-high mark that he set on May 5 in Binghamton. He threw a career-high 99 pitches (61 strikes) in the game.
Beeter ends the night ranking among the Eastern League leaders in ERA (2.34, 2nd), K (63, 3rd) and BAA (.204, 5th).
1B T.J. Rumfield (1-for-4, RBI, R, HR) hit his seventh home run of the season, continuing to extend his career-best mark.
RF Aaron Palensky (1-for-4, RBI, R, HR, K) hit his first home run of the season for the Patriots, marking his first Double-A home run since July 31, 2021 when he spent his debut season with the Patriots.
The home run was Palensky's 13th total of the season, signaling his 36th RBI, both of which lead all Yankees minor leaguers.
Palensky ends the night ranking fourth in all of Minor League Baseball in SLG (.706) and OPS (1.132).
