
Bees' Rally Falls Short in Game Two

(Burlington-IA) The Burlington Bees' fought back from an eight run deficit but could not complete the comeback, falling in game two of the series 10-7 to the Peoria Chiefs.
Peoria jumped to a four run lead in the first inning as the Chiefs sent eight men to the plate, scoring four runs, highlighted by a two run homer off the bat of Justin Ringo, putting the Chiefs on to 4-0.
The Bees grabbed a run in the bottom of the first inning when Zach Houchins singled in to right-center, driving in Bo Way, cutting the deficit to 4-1.
Justin Ringo was at it again, smacking his second home run of the game, another two run shot in another Peoria Chiefs four run inning, extending the Chiefs' lead to 8-1.
Bo Way pulled the Bees to within a pair with a two run homer, his second of the season, making the score 8-3.
Carson Kelly got one of the runs back for the Chiefs, with a single up the middle, scoring CJ McElroy, upping the lead to 9-3.
Erick Salcedo drove in the Bees' fourth run of the game with a sacrifice fly, scoring Mike Fish. Bo Way made it a two run inning with a single, driving in Trevor Gretzky, making it a 9-5 game.
Cambric Moye cut the Chiefs' lead to two runs with a two run double, driving in both Eric Aguilera and Mike Fish, making the score 9-7.
Peoria added an insurance run in the eighth, and the Bees were set down 1-2-3 in the ninth inning, dropping their second straight, 10-7.
Chase Brookshire (4-6) picked up the win; Harrison Cooney (8-7) charged the loss, and Kyle Barraclough (5) earning the save for the second straight night.
