Kohl Stewart activated from DL

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that RHP Kohl Stewart has been activated from the 7-day disabled list. Brad Steil, Director of Minor League Operations for the Twins, announced the move.

It was also announced that Stewart would be the Kernels starting pitcher tonight vs. Beloit at Pohlman Field starting at 7:00 pm. He went on the DL back on July 25 with a right shoulder impingement. The Twins first round (fourth overall) pick in the 2013 First Year Player Draft, he made 17 starts for the Kernels, posting a 3-5 record and 2.42 ERA. In 81.2 IP, he allowed 69 hits and 33 runs (22 earned) with 23 walks and 53 strikeouts.

With today's transaction, the Kernels roster is at the Midwest League maximum of 25 active players, with three players currently on the DL and one player on a MLB rehab assignment.

The Kernels continue a three game road trip tonight in Beloit at 7:00 pm. They return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Friday, August 15th and open a six game home stand with games against Peoria and Quad Cities.
