Burlington Bees News Release

(Burlington, IA)- Two big innings is all it took for Burlington to win the series opener over Beloit. A season high five run fourth inning provided the knockout punch in a 7-2 win over the Snappers.

Beloit scored first, Luis Baez ripped an RBI single to right, scoring former Bee BA Vollmuth, giving the Snappers a 1-0 lead.

Bees' third baseman Ryan Dalton made sure the lead was short lived, blasting a two run homer to left, his first of the year, giving the Bees a 2-1 lead.

The big inning came in the fourth, the Bees sent 10 hitters to the plate, scoring five run. An Angel Rosa two run triple, putting the Bees uo 4-1, highlighted the inning. Later in the inning Kody Eaves drove in Rosa with a SAC fly. The Bees pulled away later in the frame with an RBI single from Anthony Bemboom. The Bees hung on for the 7-2 win.

Garrett Nuss (2-0) worked 6.1 innings, a team high, earning his second win of the season while Ronald Herrera (2-2) of Beloit was charged with the loss.

The Bees continue their home stand Saturday night against the same Beloit Snappers at 6:30 PM. Harrison Cooney makes the start for the Bees and Lou Trivino starts for Beloit.
