Salt Lake Bees News Release

Four Salt Lake pitchers combined for a one-hitter as the Bees (6-6, 43-43) shut down the Sacramento River Cats (6-6, 40-46) to split the six-game series.

Jonathan Holder, Cam Vieaux, Kolton Ingram, Andrew Wantz and Jhonthan Diaz combined to allow just one single and two walks while striking out 11 in a dominant performance on a bullpen day. Holder led it off with three scoreless innings, striking out four and was relieved by Vieaux who also went three frames and struck out six. River Cats outfielder Jack Larsen broke up the perfect game in the seventh with a bloop single off Ingram but was immediately erased on a double play. Bees pitchers faced the minimum 24 batters through the first eight innings before Sacramento drew back-to-back walks to start the ninth off Wantz. Jhonathan Diaz shut the door in the final frame immediately inducing a double play and then striking out Tyler Fitzgerald to finish off the shutout.

The Salt Lake offense scored a pair of runs in the first inning on RBI singles from Jack Lopez and Daniel Murphy and added an insurance run in the seventh on another RBI single from Trey Cabbage.

The Bees head into the All-Star Break and will next take the field on Friday night in Albuquerque. The team returns to Smith's Ballpark on Tuesday, July 18 for a six-game homestand against the Las Vegas Aviators.
