
Bees Bounce Back, Beat Rattlers 4-2

(Appleton-WI) - The Burlington Bees (55-70) snapped a three game losing streak, beating the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (43-82) 4-2 on Monday night at Neuroscience Group Field.
After the Bees started the games with two straight singled, Wisconsin starter, Angel Ventura struck out seven batters in a row, keeping the Bees of the scoreboard until the fourth inning. Zach Houchins kicked off the inning with an infield single and moved to second base on a wild pitch. After moving to third base on a Taylor Ward single. Houchins scored on a feilder's choice, grounded into by Trevor Gretzky, giving the Bees a 1-0 lead.
Tucker Neuhaus and Sthervin Matos opened the bottom of the fourth inning with two straight singles. Late in the inning, Elvis Rubio smashed a double to center, scoring both Neuhaus and Matos, giving the Timber Rattlers a 2-1 lead.
Ayendy Perez collected his third hit of the game, leading off the top of the eighth inning with a single. After David Fletcher grounded out, Zach Houchins was hit by a pitch, putting runners at first and second. Taylor Ward tied the game, lining a single to center, scoring Perez, making the score 2-2. After Trevor Gretzky lined out, Steven Mateo tripled to right, scoring both Houchins and Ward, giving the Bees a 4-2 lead.
Bees' reliever Alex Klonowski (2-5) pitched three scoreless innings out of the bullpen, picking up the win as Timber Rattlers' reliever, Kodi Medeiros (4-4) was charged with the loss. Jordan Piched (6) earned the save, throwing a socreless ninth inning.
The Bees and the Timber Rattlers continue the series on Tuesday at 12 noon when Michael Bolaski starts for the Bees against Eric Hanhold for Wisconsin.
