
Beato Allows Seven Earned in 8-5 Loss

Augusta, Ga.- Pedro Beato was touched up for seven earned runs in his five innings of work and August held on for the 8-5 victory despite rallying to bring the tying run up in the ninth inning.
Miguel Abreu's shot up the middle hit the pitcher David Newton and he was able to throw to first to end the game. Mike McBryde was 3-4 for the âJackets with four RBI including two solo homeruns.
Brandon Tripp hit his team leading 17th homerun and 72nd RBI in the top of the second inning and scored two runs. Danny Figueroa was 2-4 with a run scored and Billy Rowell drew a walk and has now reached base safely in 27 consecutive games.
Delmarva is now 4-2 on the road trip with two more games against Augusta. The âJackets have the best winning percentage in all of minor league baseball and are now 78-43 overall. Zach Clark (2-1, 2.25 ERA) gets the nod for Delmarva Tuesday night and Augusta sends Adam Cowart (12-6, 2.52 ERA) to the hill.
