PREVIOUS GAME RECAP: The GreenJackets (50-20, 27-23) opened a four game series against the Delmarva Shorebirds (34-33, 25-24) on Sunday with an 11-6 loss. Starter Clayton Tanner suffered the loss and Augusta fell to 1-4 on its current home stand. The Shorebirds took a 4-2 lead in the fifth inning plating four runs on five hits. Delmarva tied the game at 2-2 on the two-run single from Pedro Florimon with one out in the inning. David Cash broke the tie with an RBI ground out then Brandon Snyder followed with an RBI double. The Shorebirds made it 8-2 in the seventh inning plating four runs off reliever Ryan Shaver. With two outs in the half inning Chris Vinyard connected for an RBI single then Billy Rowell followed with a three-run homer, his seventh of the season.

STARTING IT OFF: Clayton Tanner worked five innings and allowed four runs on seven hits. The lefty also walked two and struck out two. BACK-TO-BACK: Bobby Felmy and Brett Pill connected for back-to-back home runs in the first inning for a 2-0 Augusta lead. It was the second time this year Augusta connected for back-to-back homers, with the last time coming on June15 at Charleston and it was the same combination of Felmy and Pill.

DOUBLE TROUBLE: Brett Pill collected his league leading 40th double of the season last night and is tied for sixth in all of Minor League Baseball with 40 doubles. The SAL record for most doubles in a season is 55, set in 1999. GEORGIA BULLDOG: Bobby Felmy collected three RBIs in last night's win, the sixth time this year Felmy collected three RBIs in a game.

TOP TEAM: Augusta still has the highest winning percentage among all full season teams this year. The GreenJackets have a .642 (77-43) winning percentage and the Kinston Indians in the Carolina League are second with a .638 (74-42).

HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE?: Augusta lost just 19 games at home this year, however Augusta is 1-4 on its current home stand and 4-9 over it last 13 home games. The GreenJackets lost just six home games over the first 35 home games. Augusta is 14-13 at home over the past 27 home games. 39-8: Augusta lost for just the eighth time this season when collecting 10 hits or more in a game. The GreenJackets have collected 10+ hits in three straight games and have 35 hits over the past three games and a 1-2 record.

NORTHERN TOUR: Augusta is 27-18 overall against Northern Division teams and 13-8 at Lake Olmstead against Northern teams. CHASE FOR 92: In the 2006 season, Augusta was 75-44 after August 12 on its way to a 92-47 finish. This year the GreenJackets are 77-43. In 2006 Augusta won 18-of-23 to finish the regular season with 92 wins.

PLAYOFF BOUND: Augusta clinched the Southern Division First-Half Title on June 12 assuring themselves a spot in the post season come September.

Tonight's Probables

AUG: LHP Ben Snyder (13-4, 2.16) vs. DEL: RHP Pedro Beato (6-6, 3.68)

WHAT'S ON TAP: Left-hander Ben Snyder goes to the hill tonight for Augusta looking for his first home win since July 1. Snyder is coming off a loss to Lakewood in which he allowed five runs, three earned, over four innings. It was the first start Snyder did not last at least five innings since his loss to Lexington on May 25. The lefty has lost his last two starts at home and is 6-2 with a 2.33 ERA in 12 games and 10 starts In 10 starts after the All-Star break Snyder is 6-2 with a 2.17 ERA over 58.0 innings pitched.

Right-hander Pedro Beato heads to the hill tonight for Delmarva as the Shorebirds look for their fourth straight win. Beato is coming off a win on the road at Greenville where he allowed two runs on six hits over seven innings. This is the right-handers 24th start of the season and leads the team in starts and innings pitched. In 16 road starts this season Beato is 4-4 with a 3.09 ERA over 87.1 innings pitched. Beato is 3-5 with a 4.35 ERA in nine starts after the All-Star break.

Augustta vs Dellmarrva

The GreenJackets welcome to town for the first time this season the Delmarva Shorebirds, affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. This is the one and only time the two teams will meet this season and will finish Augusta's regular season schedule against the Northern Division. In 2006 Augusta won three-of-four games against the Shorebirds and the GreenJackets outscored Delmarva 38-18. The one game Augusta lost ended with Delmarva putting 13 runs on the board for a 13-10 win. It was the second most runs allowed in 2006 by Augusta pitching. The GreenJackets opened the series winning the first two games 10-2 and 7-1. The final game of the series was won in 11 innings by Augusta, 8-5.
