Hershey Bears News Release

Three points back with two games to play, the BEARS can make the 2004 Calder Cup Playoffs if they defeat Norfolk tonight and Philadelphia tomorrow without any outside help. Anything short of a four point weekend, however, will send the BEARS packing tomorrow for home. Norfolk defeated the Binghamton Senators Friday night at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena 3-0 to go three points up on HERSHEY in the East Division standings. Binghamton and Norfolk both have 79 points, while the BEARS have 76. Both the Senators and Admirals play their final regular season games tonight while the BEARS will host Philadelphia on Easter Sunday at GIANT Center. The BEARS can clinch fifth place with two wins this weekend, and actually could finish fourth and host a best of three qualifying series at GIANT Center next week if Binghamton loses to Rochester tonight and HERSHEY wins its last two games.

The BEARS enter play tonight having won two straight road games at Springfield and Albany last Sunday and Wednesday.

Tonight's game is simulcast on ABC-27 television and WSJW 92.7 FM. John Walton and Gregg Mace have the call of the action beginning on radio at 6:40 p.m. and on television at 7:00 p.m.
