WORCESTER, MA- The Worcester IceCats and Providence Bruins battled 65 minutes to a 0-0 tie Saturday night at Worcester's Centrum Centre. Worcester goalie Curtis Sanford and Providence counterpart Tim Thomas combined for 67 saves in Worcester's third scoreless deadlock in franchise history.

Sanford made 29 saves for his fifth shutout of the season. The blanking was Thomas's fifth in six games and sixth in 10 games. The scoreless tie extended the franchise record shutout total to 11 games.

Worcester will close out the regular season Sunday at Manchester at 6:05 PM. If Worcester wins, they lock up third place in the Atlantic Division and avoid the three-game qualifying series. If they lose, tie, or lose in overtime, and Providence wins at Hartford, the Bruins take third place.
