March 1, 2006 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Hershey Bears News Release
The final quarter of the 2005-06 season begins tonight, with just 20 games remaining. HERSHEY begins four games in five nights at GIANT Center against the Toronto Marlies.
Toronto comes to town for the first time ever tonight. The first year franchise has collected points in eight of its last ten games, and are led in scoring by former Worcester IceCat and University of Minnesota standout John Pohl. Pohl has 26 goals and 51 points this season. The Marlies defeated HERSHEY in a shootout 4-3 back on October 29 at Ricoh Coliseum in the front half of the two-game season series.
Tonight's game against Toronto is virtually sold out, with over 10,500 tickets sold. Tonight will mark the fourth time since December 28 that the BEARS will draw over 10,000 fans to GIANT Center. Tickets however, still remain for Saturday's home game with Philadelphia and Sunday's home game with Providence. Tickets for all BEARS home games may be purchased at the GIANT Center box office, or by calling (717) 508-BEAR.
The BEARS and Marlies can be heard tonight via the BEARS Radio Network beginning at 6:40 p.m. WQIC-FM (100.1), WLPA-AM (1490) and WHYL-AM (960) will carry the game live tonight. The broadcast is also available worldwide via the internet, with audio available through Pennlive.com and video through B2 Networks and HersheyBears.com. John Walton has the call of the action along HERSHEYPARK Drive this evening.
