
"Bearing" up for a big game

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud members of the United Hockey League and 2005-06 Central Division, Tarry Cup and Colonial Cup Champions, announce the 7th Annual Teddy Bear Toss Night Presented by Kodiak Construction, WOTV and WKFR will be this Saturday, December 16th, when the K-Wings host archrivals, the Fort Wayne Komets at 7:30 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently used teddy bear or other stuffed animal to the December 16th game. After Kalamazoo scores their first goal, all fans will be allowed to throw their bears onto the ice. A majority of the bears collected will be donated to WOTV's Angel Tree Foundation. The remaining bears will be delivered by the Kalamazoo Wings to the patients of The Children's Hospital at Bronson next Monday, December 18th at 2 p.m.
Over the past six years, the K-Wings have collected thousands of stuffed animals that were distributed to children during the holidays.
Following Saturday's game against Fort Wayne, the K-Wings will remain home for a Sunday 4 p.m. matinee against the Elmira Jackals. At the completion of Sunday's contests, the players will be partaking in a public skate with the fans.
Tickets for this weekend's game's range from $8-13 and can be purchased at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office during regular business hours, Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Fans can also reserve their seats by calling (269) 345-5101 or online at www.ticketmaster.com .
