Quad City Mallards News Release
Moline, IL-The Mallards beat Chicago and gained a regulation point in Bloomington last week to remain unbeaten in their last six games. The team is 4-0-2 during the streak. Quad City is one win away from establishing their longest unbeaten streak since the 2003-04 season. This week, the Mallards conclude a four-game road trip as they journey to Rockford and Port Huron.

Phone Cards for Troops sponsored by Mel Foster, the Mallards and The MARK
Mel Foster, the Mallards and The MARK are collecting phone cards for distribution to U.S. troops serving domestically and overseas. To participate, bring a 90-minute (or more) phone card to the new Mallards Team Store at The MARK. Fans that participate will receive two Mallards tickets for the price of one. This promotion ends on Wednesday, December 20th.
Wednesday, December 20th vs. Bloomington
Mallards Carload Special
The Mallards are hosting a carload special during the team's December 20th game vs. Bloomington. For just $50 per vehicle, all fans packed into cars, buses or trucks will receive tickets to the game. Fans must use one of The MARK's parking facilities and parking is included in the admission fee. A portion of the proceeds from the Mallards Carload Special will go towards the purchase of phone cards for U.S. Military Personnel. For details or for large groups, please call the Mallards office (309-764-7825) in advance. In addition, every fan in attendance on December 20th will also be registered to win a pair of round trip airline tickets.

Casino Rock Island Christmas Hat Giveaway
The first 2,500 fans in attendance on December 22nd will receive Mallards stocking hats from Casino Rock Island.
Saturday, December 23rd vs. Fort Wayne
Swiss Valley Farms Cowbell Giveaway
On December 23rd, the first 1,500 fans that enter The MARK will receive cowbells courtesy of Swiss Valley Farms.

The Mallards renew their rivalry with Rockford on Friday. Quad City is 1-3-0 vs. the Hogs this year. In their most recent meeting, the Mallards beat Rockford 5-3 as Don Parsons netted a pair of goals and Zach Sikich made 33 saves.
Saturday, December 16th at Port Huron 6:30 p.m. central time at McMorran Arena
The Mallards visit Port Huron on Saturday for the second time this year. The Mallards are 1-1-0 vs. the Flags this year with a 4-3 win in the teams' most recent meeting.

Duck Talk is on Fox Sports Radio AM 1230 tonight at 6:00 p.m. from the Blackbear Lounge at The Lodge. This week, Don Parsons joins Mallards Head Coach Brian Curran and host Aaron Roof.

Friday, December 8th - Quad City 4 at Chicago 1
The Mallards extended their unbeaten streak to five games (4-0-1) with a 4-1 win over Chicago on Friday at the Sears Centre. Jason Tapp made 27 saves in earning the win. Patrick Nadeau, Luke Stauffacher, Brett Pilkington and Mathieu Wathier recorded the Quad City goals in the team's seventh win of the year. The teams traded first period goals as the opening frame ended with the score tied at one. Patrick Nadeau gave Quad City a 1-0 lead with his second goal of the year at 12:07 of the first period. Chicago's Greg Koehler evened the score when he scooped up a wayward dump-in attempt and scored his fourth goal of the year. The Mallards seized control of the game on second period goals by Luke Stauffacher and Brett Pilkington. Stauffacher scored with the Mallards on the power play on a feed from Justin Chwedoruk. Pilkington's tally came off a great individual effort as the rookie skated through the Chicago defense before beating Hounds netminder Marty Magers. The Mallards secured the win on a third period goal by Mathieu Wathier. The tally was Wathier's first as a Mallard and set the final at 4-1.
Saturday, December 9th - Quad City 3 at Bloomington 4 - Shootout
The Mallards remained unbeaten in their last six following a 4-3 shootout loss to the PrairieThunder on Saturday night in Bloomington. Andrei Lupandin, Sean Starke and Justin Chwedoruk recorded the regulation goals for Quad City. A frantic first period featured four goals. Bloomington built a 2-0 lead on power-play tallies by Mathieu Brunelle and Dmitri Tarabrin. The Mallards battled back to tie the score on even strength goals from Andrei Lupandin and Sean Starke. Lupandin's point shot at 11:59 of the first traveled through traffic and into the back of the Bloomington net. Stakre scored with just 38 seconds left in the opening frame as he deflected Justin Chwedoruk's centering pass past Bloomington netminder Jeff Reynaert. A scoreless second period featured 23 Mallards shots. Reynaert stopped every shot he faced while his teammates mustered just seven shots on Quad City goalie Jason Tapp. The teams swapped third period tallies to set up the shootout. Alex Goupil scored on a Bloomington power-play at 5:45 of the closing period. Just 21 seconds later, Justin Chwedoruk scored his fifth goal of the year on a feed from Luke Stauffacher to tie the game at three. A thrilling shootout ended in the bottom of the fifth round when Jon Jankus scored to secure the win for Bloomington. The shootout was tied through four rounds as Don Parsons scored for Quad City and Alex Goupil recorded the first Bloomington tally.
Player of the Week
Justin Chwedoruk is the Mallards nominee for UHL Player of the Week. He assisted on Luke Stauffacher's goal on Friday and had a goal and an assist on Saturday in Bloomington.
Goalie of the Week
Jason Tapp is the Mallards nominee for UHL Goaltender of the Week. He went 1-0-1 this week and recorded a .930 save percentage with a 2.00 goals against average.
