Beagle, Gordon, Perreault Assigned to Hershey, Bears Assign Three to Stingrays

HERSHEY - The 2010 Calder Cup Champion HERSHEY BEARS announced today in conjunction with the Washington Capitals that centers Jay Beagle and Mathieu Perreault, as well as right wing Andrew Gordon have been assigned to HERSHEY. The announcement was made today by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst.

The trio all were members of each of the last two Calder Cup champion squads in HERSHEY. Gordon, who has to clear waivers on Wednesday in order to play for the BEARS, finished second in the AHL with 37 goals in 2009-10. Beagle, 24, recorded 35 points in 66 games last year for the Chocolate and White, and Perreault picked up 50 points in 56 games for HERSHEY a year ago. He also played in 21 games for Washington in 2009-10, scoring four goals and assisting on five others.

The BEARS also announced today that defenseman Dylan Yeo, right wing Jordan Pietrus and left wing Nikita Kashirsky have been assigned to South Carolina (ECHL).

The Chocolate and White will try to become just the second team in AHL history to win three straight Calder Cup titles, officially kicking off its title defense this Saturday night at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton at 7:05 p.m. The new BEARS Radio Network kicks off Saturday night, with the pregame show starting a full half-hour before game time at 6:35 p.m.
