Wolves Send Davies and Krug to Gwinnett

The Chicago Wolves have reassigned forward MICHAEL DAVIES and defenseman MATT KRUG (KRUHG) to the ECHL's Gwinnett Gladiators. In addition, the Wolves have released forward DAN KISSEL.

DAVIES set a career-high and shared sixth in the NCAA with 52 points (20G, 32A) in 41 games as a senior with the University of Wisconsin (WCHA) last season. He ranked second on the Badgers with a career-best 20 goals and third with a career-most 32 assists. The 23-year-old also made his professional debut in three Calder Cup playoff games with the American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers after Wisconsin was defeated in the 2010 NCAA National Championship game. Overall, the Chesterfield, Mo., native amassed 54 goals, 69 assists, 123 points and 122 penalty minutes in 155 games with the Badgers, spanning four seasons (2006-10).

KRUG appeared in 75 games with the International Hockey League's Muskegon Lumberjacks during his professional debut last season. He shared first among IHL defensemen with 14 goals and paced league blueliners with 47 points. The 25-year-old also shared second among league rearguards with 33 assists and ranked seventh overall in the IHL with 209 penalty minutes.

Prior to turning pro, the Southfield, Mich., native amassed 43 points (14G, 29A) and 288 penalty minutes in 134 CHA games with Wayne State University and Robert Morris University, spanning four seasons (2005-09).

The Wolves will open their 17th season in Texas when they battle the San Antonio Rampage at the AT&T Center on Friday at 7 p.m. Chicago will face the Milwaukee Admirals in an Amtrak Rivalry matchup for the team's home opener, presented by LifeSource, at the Allstate Arena on Sat., Oct. 16, at 7 p.m.
