TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. - The Traverse City Beach Bums were shutout by the Kalamazoo Kings 4-0 on Roger Mason Bobblehead Night at Wuerfel Park.

He ran into early problems, throwing nine straight pitches out of the zone and issuing a pair of walks to Al Barbato and Mike Epping in the bottom of the first before John Alonso lined into a double play on a 1-0 offering.

The Kings came back and scored the first run in the second off of Beach Bums starter David Dinelli. Simon Williams walked to start the frame, stole second, moved to third on a single by Josh Short, and scored on a fielder's choice. The Kings picked up two more against Dinelli in the fifth inning as Kyle Higgins led off with a double and Joe Ramos singled. Each runner scored on a groundout to put Kalamazoo ahead 3-0.

Dinelli threw five innings and allowed three runs on six hits to go with a walk and three strikeouts. He was hit with the loss. Traverse City did not record their first hit until the bottom of the sixth inning with two outs. Al Barbato put one through the right side of the infield. The Kings accounted for the final margin when Joe Ramos drove home Kyle Higgins, who had tripled, with a single.
