Baysox Feeding Facebook Friends

BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox will host the first ever Facebook Friends Night at Prince George's Stadium on Monday, Aug. 24, as the team takes on the Altoona Curve at 7:05 p.m. Facebook friends of the Baysox can watch the game from a luxury suite, indulge in a one-hour buffet and enter a free raffle for Baysox prizes.

The event caps off a successful first season for the Baysox on Facebook. "Our Facebook page has grown significantly since we launched it this spring," said Baysox Director of Marketing Brandan Kaiser. "Our fans are really receptive to all of our social networking efforts, including our Twitter and YouTube pages. We wanted to hold an event that would thank those fans."

To be eligible for participation in Facebook Friends Night, fans must be a friend of the Baysox on Facebook and purchase tickets by 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 21. Tickets must be purchased through a specific link on the Baysox Facebook page with a promotional code that will be sent to the Baysox Facebook friends through the site's messaging system.

Facebook friends attending the event can look forward to a buffet featuring pulled barbecue chicken sandwiches, Dietz and Watson grilled hotdogs, chips, watermelon and soft drinks. The event also coincides with Party Like It's 1929 Night, which was postponed due to inclement weather earlier in the season.
