Baysox Brace For Beards

April 19, 2010 - Eastern League (EL1)
Chesapeake Baysox News Release

BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox look to expand on the success of last year's Mustache Mania promotion with Beard-A-Palooza on Monday, May 10, as the Baysox take on the Richmond Flying Squirrels at Prince George's Stadium at 7:05 p.m. Beard-A-Palooza is open to all fans and the event features a special ticket offer and beard-related contests.

Baysox Director of Marketing Brandan Kaiser helped plan the event. "I thought all the mustaches we saw last year were great," Kaiser said. "I plan on counting all the different beards we see at Beard-A-Palooza, whether they are full beards, chinstraps, goatees or friendly mutton chops, and if they are natural or home made, we want to see them."

The team will reward fans with beards with a special ticket offer. Any bearded fan purchasing tickets at the box office on the day of the game can purchase lower reserved seat tickets for $7 (regularly $14), limit one per beard. The beards can be real or fake, but the offer is only available in person on the day of the game.

Beards will be honored throughout the game with contests for longest and most colorful beards and between-inning promotions include "What's In The Beard." The Baysox front office staff will also participate in the fun with beards of their own.

Think Outside The Box with the Baysox in 2010. The Baysox 18th season as the class Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles is underway at Prince George's Stadium. Catch all the action in exciting Natural Definition as the Baysox look to win their first Eastern League championship! Baysox full-season and partial-season ticket packages are available now at www.baysox.com or by calling the group sales department at (301) 464-4880.
