MOBILE, Ala. - Jordan Parraz launched a home run leading off the ninth to give the Mobile BayBears (6-4) a 1-1, walk off win in the series-finale against the Biscuits (5-5) Sunday afternoon at Hank Aaron Stadium. With the walk-off, the BayBears won the series.
After only totaling four hits through the first eight innings, Parraz stepped to the plate to lead off the ninth against Santiago Garrido (0-1) with the game tied at one. On a one-one pitch, Parraz hooked a drive around the left field foul pole for the win. Garrido had not given up a run prior to the homer.
The Biscuits trailed 1-0 in the seventh inning when Santiago Garrido ripped a two out single to center to tie the game. Montgomery put two runners on in the top of the ninth inning but could not score on Kaleb Fleck (1-0) who picked up the win.
Grayson Garvin turned in a solid start for Montgomery, tossing three scoreless-innings, facing the minimum and striking out four. Jimmy Patterson went 2.2 innings without allowing a run out of the bullpen.
A.J. Schugel shined for the BayBears by going 6.2 innings and only allowing one run with six strikeouts and two hits allowed.
