BayBears Walk-Off to Take Series

MOBILE, Ala. - Jordan Parraz launched a home run leading off the ninth to give the Mobile BayBears (6-4) a 1-1, walk off win in the series-finale against the Biscuits (5-5) Sunday afternoon at Hank Aaron Stadium. With the walk-off, the BayBears won the series.

After only totaling four hits through the first eight innings, Parraz stepped to the plate to lead off the ninth against Santiago Garrido (0-1) with the game tied at one. On a one-one pitch, Parraz hooked a drive around the left field foul pole for the win. Garrido had not given up a run prior to the homer.

The Biscuits trailed 1-0 in the seventh inning when Santiago Garrido ripped a two out single to center to tie the game. Montgomery put two runners on in the top of the ninth inning but could not score on Kaleb Fleck (1-0) who picked up the win.

Grayson Garvin turned in a solid start for Montgomery, tossing three scoreless-innings, facing the minimum and striking out four. Jimmy Patterson went 2.2 innings without allowing a run out of the bullpen.

A.J. Schugel shined for the BayBears by going 6.2 innings and only allowing one run with six strikeouts and two hits allowed.

Mobile scored the first run of the game with a sacrifice fly from Jon Griffin in the fifth inning.

The Biscuits will start a five-game series with the Pensacola Blue Wahoos on Monday night at 6:30. RH Victor Mateo looks for his first win for the Biscuits while the Wahoos will send RH Carlos Contreras to the hill.
