Mobile BayBears News Release

PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, hit four home runs in the first four innings and rolled to an 8-2 victory over the Pensacola Blue Wahoos Monday night at Blue Wahoos Stadium.

After the BayBears (47-38 overall, 10-7 second half) plated a run on a missed catch error in the first, Jose Rojas hit a pair of long balls off Daniel Wright (4-6) in the second and fourth to extend the lead to 4-0. It was the second multi-homer game in the last three weeks for Rojas, who matched his career-high with four hits and drove in four runs.

Later in the fourth inning, Brandon Sandoval and Riley Unroe became the first pair of BayBears to hit back-to-back home runs this season. Sandoval's solo home run was his first of the year, and Unroe followed with his second dinger.

Jeremy Beasley (1-0) pitched five scoreless innings to earn the win in his Double-A debut. He allowed just three Pensacola (43-43, 13-5) hits and struck out a career-high nine batters.

The BayBears continue the four-game road series against Pensacola Tuesday at 6:35 p.m. CDT. Right-handed pitcher Alex Klonowski (5-1, 3.86 ERA) is scheduled to make the start against righty Wyatt Strahan (5-8, 6.87 ERA) for the Blue Wahoos.
