Niagara IceDogs News Release
The Niagara IceDogs lost 3-2 to the North Bay Battalion Sunday afternoon in North Bay.
Alex Henriksson opened the scoring 1:10 into the opening frame to give the Battalion the lead. Brendan Perlini extended his goal scoring streak to five games when he tied the game just over five minutes later. Ryan Mantha's third goal of the season made it 2-1 for the IceDogs after one period.
The IceDogs killed off a lengthy five-on-three in the second but Ryan Kujawinski scored twice to give the Battalion a 3-2 lead.
The IceDogs poured on the pressure in the third period, especially late when Brandon Hope went to the bench for the extra attacker, but they couldn't beat Battalion goaltender Jake Smith and the Battalion held on for the 3-2 win.
The IceDogs are back in action Thursday night when they host the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds at the Meridian Centre.
