Bats Swept in Doubleheader, 4-2, 2-0

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville Bats were swept in a doubleheader by the Scranton Wilkes-Barre RailRiders Wednesday night at Louisville Slugger Field, 4-2 and 2-0.

In game one, the RailRiders took the lead in the seventh inning scoring four runs against the Bats bullpen. A two-RBI double by Ben Gamel brought in two runs giving Scranton a 3-2 lead they would not relinquish. An Aaron Judge sac fly added a fourth run for the final, 4-2.

The Bats got on the board first in the fifth inning on a Ray Chang single and added their second on a Steve Selsky sac fly in the sixth, but they could not hold onto the lead and took the loss.

Louisville right-hander A.J. Morris pitched six shut out innings, allowing six hits and striking out one.

The RailRiders right hander Brady Lail earned the win pitching six innings, allowing four hits, two runs, one earned with three walks and two strikeouts.

In game two, the RailRiders got on the Bats early and took a 1-0 lead in the second inning off a Pete Kozma single that plated Cesar Puello.

The Bats starter left-hander Cody Reed's (2-2, 2.08) night was finished after six innings pitched as he allowed two earned runs on four hits and struck out six.

A run was added to the RailRiders lead in the fifth inning when Ben Gamel singled up the middle to drive-in Eddy Rodriguez. The game two final would be 2-0.

In his third start of the season, Scranton's starter left-hander Tyler Olson (2-1, 4.66) throwing four innings, giving up zero runs on one hit while striking out five. Olson did not go five innings and wasn't eligible for the win. Right-hander Giovanny Gallegos picked up his first win of the season.

After their third doubleheader of the season, the Bats record fell to 3-3 in twin bills.

Tomorrow, the Bats and RailRiders will finish their four game series at 7:05 p.m. Right-hander Josh Smith (3-3, 2.70) will be on the hill for the Bats and right-hander Eric Ruth (1-0, 3.00) takes the mound for the RailRiders.
