Louisville Bats News Release
LOUISVILLE, Ky- On Tuesday night at Louisville Slugger Field, the Louisville Bats dropped their fourth straight at home to the Buffalo Bisons, 6-0. The Bats record falls back to .500 after being shutout for the ninth time this season.
Louisville failed to score at home for the eighth game this year, first time since June 3. In total, the Bats were only able to collect two hits due in big part to right-handed pitcher Drew Hutchison's (6-3, 2.78) six innings of one-hit ball, while striking out five and walking two.
The game proved to be right-handed pitcher Daniel Wright's (1-3, 6.00) third straight loss and third straight start of allowing four or more runs. Wright's night was finished after five innings and allowing six hits, striking out seven, and walking three on 97 pitches with 57 strikes.
After Wright exited the game, Buffalo plated two more runs with the final run coming in the ninth by the way of a solo home run by first baseman Jesus Montero.
Tomorrow night's affair will begin with first pitch at 7:05 pm at Louisville Slugger Field. The Bats will send right-handed pitcher Keyvius Sampson (2-3, 2.06) to the mound in hopes of preventing the sweep against the Bisons' left-handed pitcher Scott Diamond (5-7, 3.56).
