June 28, 2016 - International League (IL1)
Indianapolis Indians News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indians left 13 men on base as they were unable to mount much offense on Tuesday at Victory Field, falling 2-1 to Gwinnett.

Gwinnett (35-44) got a quick lead in the top of the first, plating a run on a sac fly by Anthony Recker. The Braves scored again in the second on an RBI double from Blake Lalli.

Alen Hanson clubbed his fifth home run of the season, a no-doubter to right field, in the third to make it 2-1.

Trevor Williams settled in following the first inning, retiring the Braves in order for three straight innings and 14 of his final 15 batters faced.

Indianapolis (41-37) loaded the bases in the fifth but couldn't convert when a double play ended the Indians' scoring chance in the frame.

Williams (2-4) would depart after six strong innings, matching his season high. He allowed two earned runs and struck out a season-best six batters. Stephen Janas (2-0) earned the win for the Braves.

Justin Masterson and Kyle Lobstein both turned in scoreless relief appearances, with Lobstein striking out the side in the eighth.

The two teams will conclude the series on Wednesday afternoon at 1:35 p.m.
