Bats Hold off Indians for 3-2 Victory

Louisville -- Close games have been the theme of the season series, and the Louisville Bats (43-44) edged the Indianapolis Indians (51-36) on Wednesday night, 3-2. It marked the seventh time in 14 meetings the two clubs were separated by just one run.

The Bats did all their scoring in the first and third innings. Brennan Boesch singled home a pair of runs, while an error by second baseman Alen Hanson allowed the third run to cross. John Bowker led off the seventh inning with a home run for the Tribe, and Keon Broxton would later break home on an error in the inning. Indianapolis would have the tying run in scoring position on two different occasions, but could not level the score.
