CHARLESTON, WV - The pitchers dominated Saturday night, holding both offenses to a combined ten hits in a 3-2 West Virginia win.

Through the early innings, however, it looked like the bats for both teams were going to have a big night.

The BlueClaws (25-16) scored three runs in the first inning on Friday, and followed that up with two in the first on Saturday. Jiwan James was hit by a pitch, Leandro Castro tripled him in, and Jonathan SIngleton hit a sac-fly for a 2-0 lead.

West Virginia (20-22) cut the Claws lead in half in the second on an Elevys Gonzalez RBI single, and an Aaron Baker two-run double in the third pushed the Power ahead 3-2.

From the fourth inning on the Power managed just one more hit, while Lakewood could only muster three of their own.

The BlueClaws have now been held to just two runs in four of their last five games.

Power starter Jason Erickson (7-5) let up just two runs on four hits through six. Zach Foster took over from there allowing one hit and picking up the nine out save, his fifth.

BlueClaws righty Trevor May (4-2) had his three start winning streak snapped. He held the Power to three runs on four hits through six, striking out six while walking three.

Sunday at 2:05 pm RHP Josh Zeid (5-4, 2.97) faces Power RHP Kyle McPherson (6-9, 3.97).
