
Bats Come Alive, Bradish Sparkles on Mound in Win over Nuts

San Bernardino, CA- The Inland Empire 66ers of San Bernardino made it back-to-back wins over the Modesto Nuts with a 9-1 victory at San Manuel Stadium on Sunday. The 66ers (37-63, 11-20) banged out 12 hits and got a superb pitching effort from Kyle Bradish (4-6) to improve to 7-1 against Modesto on the season.
Angels righty JC Ramirez started the game for the 66ers on an injury rehab assignment and went 2.2 innings surrendering two hits and one run on solo homer by Keegan McGovern. Ramirez walked one and fanned two batters in a 45 pitch appearance. The 66ers took a lead in the fourth against Modesto righty Penn Murfee (5-3) when Jordan Zimmerman and Mike Stefanic each singled and Devin Davis walked. Murfee then dropped the ball while on the mound for a run-scoring balk to tie the game 1-1. Gleyvin Pineda then doubled to right giving the Sixers a 3-1 lead. Inland Empire blew the game open with a six-run sixth inning in which the seven straight batters reached base. Pineda drilled another RBI double in the frame. Zimmerman finished the game with three hits while Pineda drove in three bases. Stefanic and Leonardo Rivas also had two-hit games with Rivas notching a double and extending his hitting-streak to ten games. Bradish rolled as the righty from New Mexico State set a career-high with six innings of work; he allowed three hits, no walks and fanned five batters.
