Modesto, CA. - Collin Ferguson capped a six-run seventh to help carry the Modesto Nuts to a 10-4 win over the Stockton Ports on Tuesday night at John Thurman Field.

With the game locked at two apiece, the Nuts (3-3; 29-47) started their tie-breaking effort when Omar Carrizales ripped his second triple of the night to start the seventh. Carrizales finished 5-for-5 with a RBI and three runs. Forrest Wall followed and smacked the go-ahead RBI single off Ports' (3-3; 30-46) reliever Victor Veliz (L, 0-1). Wall worked his way to third with a balk and stolen base, but Veliz struck out the next two.

The barrage continued after that. Dom Nunez smacked a RBI triple. He drove in a pair as part of a 2-for-4 night. Josh Fuentes followed with a RBI single. He went 2-for-5. Max White put runners on the corners with a single that knocked Veliz out of the game. The first batter Corey Miller faced was Collin Ferguson who smashed a no-doubt, three-run homer to turn a tight contest into a laugher.

Jake McGee (W, 1-0), on MLB rehab, worked a perfect seventh inning.
