Baseball Grounds to Host Father's Day Cookout

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Families on the First Coast can celebrate Father's Day in FUNdamentally Different fashion at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville June 19, when the Jacksonville Suns host a cookout in the Grillman's Party Plaza and pregame catch on the field for the 3:05 p.m. Baptist Health Sunday Family FUNday game with the Biloxi Shuckers.

Individuals and families may now purchase Father's Day Cookout packages that include reserved seats and the all-you-can-eat buffet in the Grillman's Party Plaza from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 19. The Father's Day celebration at the ballpark will also include a Father's Day Grill Giveaway presented by Channel 4 The Local Station to one lucky fan.

Reservations for the Father's Day Cookout must be made by Friday, June 10, by calling Marco LaNave at (904) 224-8534 or submitting a registration form (available at www.jaxsuns.com/fathersday) to marco@jaxsuns.com. Space is limited. Packages are $20 per person and include a wristband for access to the all-you-can-eat cookout buffet and a reserved seat for the Suns' 3:05 p.m. game. Normally only served to groups of 24 or more people, the cookout menu of all-you-can-eat hamburgers, hot dogs, cole slaw, beans, cookies, tea and lemonade is available for individuals and families to purchase for the first time this season.

As part of another Baptist Health Sunday Family FUNday, kids and their families can play catch on the field, and a Suns player will read a children's story before the game. Fans can also get their face painted free of charge behind Section 108, and there will be a kids crafts table on the concourse. Following the game, kids 12 and under can run the bases.
