Barton and Merth Return from Wilkes-Barre

WHEELING, WV - The Wheeling Nailers, 'AA' Affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens announced today that Forward Chris Barton and Defensemen Peter Merth have been returned to the team from the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins.

The reigning ECHL Rookie of the Month, Barton has registered 26 points (15g-11a) over 21 games during his rookie season with the Nailers. Barton compiled seven goals and eight assists in 10 games during the month of November.

During his four games in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Merth picked up an assist for his first AHL point. Now in his second year as a pro, Merth has posted two assists and 11 penalty minutes in 13 games with the Nailers.

The Nailers will play on home ice again on Wednesday night, when they welcome the Elmira Jackals to town for a 7:05 face-off at WesBanco Arena.
