Jakaitis Named ECHL Goalie of the Week

Gladiators goaltender Jeff Jakaitis has been named the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the week of December 12th through December 18th.

Jakaitis played in all three of the Gladiators games last week and posted a 3-0-0 record as he helped the Gladiators remain in first place in the ECHL's South Division and move into a tie for the top spot in the Eastern Conference with 34 points.

The Rochester, Minnesota, native posted a 1.00 goals against average, .964 save percentage in three starts this week. He earned a 4-2 win over Florida on December 15th, followed that up with a 2-1 win at South Carolina on December 16th and notched a 1-0 shutout win over the Stingrays on December 17th.

Jakaitis has posted a 1.90 goals against average and a .941 save percentage in 12 games this season for the Gladiators. He has also collected a pair of shutouts for Gwinnett.

Gwinnett travels to South Carolina tonight at 7:05 p.m. to take on the Stingrays.
