Barons Part of Heritage Classic Weekend in Calgary

Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City Barons will take part in the 2011 Tim Hortons Heritage Classic in Calgary this weekend. The Heritage Classic is a celebration of hockey's rich outdoor history and Canadian heritage.

The 2011 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic is the first NHL regular season game contested outdoors in Canada since the Edmonton Oilers, parent club of the Barons, hosted the Montreal Canadiens at the inaugural Heritage Classic at Commonwealth Stadium on November 22, 2003.

The following is the lineup of events for the weekend:

February 18 - The Barons square off with the Abbotsford Heat, AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, at 8 p.m. CT. This is a Battle of Alberta for the AHL affiliates of Edmonton and Calgary. The game will be broadcast on the Barons' flagship station, 96.1 KXY.

February 19 - The 20211 Tim Hortons Heritage Classic will feature an Alumni Outdoor Game on Saturday as well as an outdoor hockey and entertainment festival will be held outside McMahon Stadium in Calgary for fans of all ages.

Oklahoma City will travel to Abbotsford for the second of their two-game set with the Heat. Faceoff is 9 p.m. (CT) and can be heard on AM 1000 KTOK

February 20 - The 2011 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic will be held at McMahon Stadium in Calgary. The game is between the Montreal Canadiens and Calgary Flames can be seen in the U.S. on VERSUS at 5 p.m. CT.

February 21 - The Classic Weekend will conclude with a Western Hockey League game featuring the Calgary Hitmen and the Regina Pats at McMahon Stadium at 2 p.m. CT.

Also, Friday is Wear Your Jersey to Work Day. Fans are encouraged to wear the jersey of their favorite hockey team to work to show spirit and support for the sport of ice hockey.
