Moose Will Wear Gateway Flyers Jerseys on 'Hockey Night in Manitoba'
February 17, 2011 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Manitoba Moose News Release
The Manitoba Moose are celebrating 'Hockey Night in Manitoba' when they host the Lake Erie Monsters on Saturday, February 19th at MTS Centre.
On a night dedicated to celebrating minor hockey in our province, the Moose will trade in their regular home-white jerseys for the sweater of the Gateway Flyers. Gateway Community Club earned the right to see their jersey worn in professional action by winning first place in the 2009-10 Community Jersey Program. As part of their prize, Gateway Community Club also hosted the third annual Manitoba Moose Pancake Breakfast on October 18, 2010.
The first 5,000 fans through the doors will receive a limited edition Eddie Lack wall decal. Also, limited edition Gateway Flyers-Moose jerseys can be purchased in the MTS Centre concourse throughout the game on Saturday. There have already over 3,000 tickets for 'Hockey Night in Manitoba' sold to minor hockey players, parents and coaches.
Among the many community programs that the organization proudly engages in, the Community Jersey Program is a highlight of the hockey season for the Manitoba Moose Hockey Club. The program continues throughout the 2010-11 season and encourages the participation of all community clubs in Manitoba. A full list of community clubs and codes can be found at www.moosehockey.com/jerseypromo and the community club with the most tickets purchased during this season will earn the honour of having their jersey worn by the Manitoba Moose during a regular season AHL game in 2011-12.
The Manitoba Moose are proud supporters of minor hockey in our province. Along with programs like the Community Jersey Program, the Manitoba Moose Hockey Club and the Yearling Foundation also make a large annual contribution in support of minor hockey. Last year, the Yearling Foundation donated $47,616 to Hockey Manitoba.
