BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Micah Schnurstein delivered an RBI single in the bottom of the 14th inning to give the Birmingham Barons a 6-5 win over the Jacksonville Suns on Friday evening, May 5th, in Southern League action at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium.

After Rob Sasser and Ricardo Nanita singled to begin the Barons' half of the 14th, Gustavo Molina executed a successful sacrifice bunt to advance the runners to second and third. After Michael Myers drew a walk to load the bases, Schnurstein delivered Sasser with his game-winning base hit to left-center field.

After entering the game in the bottom of the eighth as a pinch hitter, Schnurstein wound up going 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI. Nanita, who went 2-for-4, scored twice for the Barons, who pulled to within one game of .500 at 14-15. Birmingham's B.J. LaMura held the Suns scoreless in the 13th and 14th innings - striking out three in the process - to get the victory and improve his record to 2-0.
