Barons Add Watson On Loan

CLEVELAND, OH -- The Cleveland Barons Hockey Club announced today that defenseman Dan Watson will join the team for the remainder of this season on-loan from the Syracuse Crunch (AHL). Barons President, Michael T. Lehr, made the announcement.

Watson, a 6'2", 222 Lb., defenseman from Glencoe, Ontario has played 50 games with the Syracuse Crunch this season. The third-year pro has totaled 9 pts (2-7) and added 36 penalty minutes. Watson has been a part of the Columbus Blue Jackets system since May 16, 2000 when he was signed as a free agent out of Sarnia (OHL).

The Barons also announced that defenseman Nathan Lutz has been released from his PTO agreement and will return to the Toledo Storm (ECHL). In 10 games played with the Barons this year Lutz registered 4 points (1-3) and 12 penalty minutes.

Watson will arrive to Cleveland in time for tonight's action against the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins at 7:05pm. The game is the second of six straight at Gund Arena for the Barons who are 1-0-0 against the Penguins this year. The first 3,000 fans at the game will receive an authentic autographed action photo of Barons All-Star forward Niko Dimitrakos. Tickets are available at the Gund Arena Box Office.
